Course Catalog
Course RC1
Integration of Special Core Analysis for Reservoir Mgmt
This 3-day course will provide a summary of recommendations for carrying out Special Core Analysis tests and dynamic displacement studies. It is intended to serve as a reference for the experienced practitioner and a checklist for the less experienced to flag those topics he/she will require expert help.
Course RC2
Aquifer Utilization for Energy Sustainability
This 5-day course provides valuable and timely insights into how we can draw from the wealth of existing technologies and data deployed by the fossil fuel industry in our transition toward a more sustainable future. This course is valuable to academic, professional, and business audiences seeking to evaluate the potential subsurface storage of carbon and/or energy and to inform policymakers in developing the proper policy tools to advance the objectives of a sustainable energy transition.
Course RM1
Fractured Reservoir Mgmt Course
This 5-day course covers all aspects of managing fractured carbonate reservoirs starting with reservoir characterization and ending in simulation and reservoir surveillance. Throughout this 5-day course, several case studies are covered in detail to gain more insights into the actual mechanisms and best practices. Students are instructed to bring in their own case histories for further analysis and discussion in the classroom.
Course RM2
Gas Field Reservoir Mgmt
This 5-day course provides a solid technical overview on the current state of managing diverse groups of gas fields & increases the knowledge and level of understanding of the impact of gas field management on business delivery. This course will address key problem areas and offer tools and techniques for optimization over 5 days.
Course RM3
Depletion Planning & Reporting
This 2-day course will teach students how to prepare a depletion plan in order to develop an understanding of the potential of each field and make decisions about how to optimally exploit the asset’s potential. The intent is to provide teams with a consistent framework for development and surveillance as well as support other Petroleum processes and corporate requirements.
Course RM4
Production Forecasting for Reserves Estimation
This 3-day course presents a set of guidelines for using material balance (MBal) and different methods of decline curve analysis (DCA) in conjunction with reserves evaluations. In this 3-day course, the uncertainties, discrepancies and common errors in reserves estimation using actual field case reviews will be discussed.
Course RM5
Low-Carbon Intensity Methods for Unconventional Oil Recovery
This 5-day course will discuss both the thermal and non-thermal methods. Conventional enhanced oil recovery methods are currently being taught as the only means of producing unconventional oil. However, with the current emphasis on environmental impacts and minimizing carbon footprint, low-carbon intensity methods are being pursued as alternative EOR techniques.
Course RM6
Waterflooding Best Practices
This 2-day course will:
o Provide a solid technical overview on the current state of managing waterfloods (peripheral, pattern, onshore, offshore)
o Increase the knowledge and level of understanding of the impact of waterflooding management on business delivery
o Provide attendees with examples of best waterflood management practices
